Performance "Flying ship"

2023

I came up with the performance "The Flying Ship" in the style of baroque theater. A characteristic feature of Baroque theater was the mixture of naturalistic and abstract principles on the theater stage. This affected the acting, the staging of the play, the costumes, and even the play had a real and symbolic meaning.
The illusion of reality on stage was created by theatrical equipment, scenery, accessories, and lighting. The picture of the real was created by noises that reproduced a thunderstorm, a storm, and sea waves on stage. The main elements of the actor's performance were voice and gesture. Gestures and poses were borrowed from famous paintings. The scenery brought the stage closer to the painting. These were mountains, forests, a raging sea, a royal palace, a city square. Architectural elements were often used. I decided to use all this in our fairy tales for children and adults. We created grandiose-scale decorations, but when they lined up on stage, a complete feeling of lightness, elegance and flight was created. The apotheosis was the flight of a ship in the clouds, when a ship floated onto the stage and clouds with a rainbow descended, then everything moved and flew with the help of stage mechanisms to the beat of the music.
Many years have passed, but the Baroque theater still makes a huge impression on the audience, as in the best theatrical traditions.
