This theater laboratory is a completely unusual and very interesting experience for me, because I worked with seven opera directors at once and my task was to artistically combine their excerpts from performances into one show. The theme was the works of Dostoevsky, and I composed a single set, which changed for each performance separately.
I really love the architecture of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, it is one of my favorite buildings and I wanted to use a replica of the facade of this cathedral in the decoration. I felt that this reflected my feeling from the music written by the composers, from Dostoevsky himself, from the way religiosity was woven into his texts, I know that when Dostoevsky traveled to Italy, this place made a huge impression on him. I wanted to create a set in which all the components of the performance would work perfectly: light, sound, video, mise-en-scène, costumes, set elements, actors, in our case opera soloists, chorus, mimance, orchestra.
